Overview

This Project is Important for Industrial Development of the country in general and Sindh Province in particular due to the fact that two Special Economic Zone are already established in Karachi which are Bin Qasim Industrial Park and Korangi Creek Industrial Park where different industrial clusters with business themes are in place. An Export Processing Zone at Landhi Karachi is also fully functional to provide export oriented units with opportunities of state of the art industrial facilities. Besides under a current flagship initiative under CPEC framework in order to further attract foreign direct investment in Pakistan, Federal Government has initiated a project titled “Development of Karachi Industrial Park (KIP)’” on fifteen hundred (1500) Acres of Pakistan Steel Mill’s land at Karachi. This will provide a plug n play environment to potential local/international investors to set up industry with minimum upfront investment toward land and basic amenities. Its feasibility component by a renowned Singapore based firm is almost completed and civil work is going to be launched soon.
